Pro $100/month tier launched
OpenAI launched a new Pro $100/month tier between Plus ($20) and the original Pro ($200). The tier provides 5x Plus usage, GPT-5.4 Pro model access, o1 Pro mode, and higher Codex quotas. A launch promotion gives early subscribers 10x Plus Codex usage through 31 May 2026.

Late 2025
Model naming updated to GPT-5 series
OpenAI updated model naming across tiers. GPT-4o family transitioned to GPT-5.3 / GPT-5.4 Instant / GPT-5.4 Thinking / GPT-5.4 Pro naming convention. No pricing changes accompanied the renaming. The new model designations reflect significant capability improvements over the GPT-4 generation.

Go tier ($8/month) launched
OpenAI added the Go tier at $8/month as an entry-level paid option between the free tier and Plus. Go provides ad-free access, higher message caps than free, and limited image generation. It does not include GPT-5.4 Thinking, Sora, advanced voice, memory, or Codex.

Pro $200/month tier launched
OpenAI launched the original Pro tier at $200/month for power users requiring effectively unlimited access. The tier provides 20x Plus usage, GPT-5.4 Pro access, o1 Pro mode, the highest Codex access tier, priority model access, and early feature access. This was the highest consumer tier until Pro $100 was added in April 2026.

Enterprise tier launched
OpenAI launched ChatGPT Enterprise for large organisational deployments. Enterprise is custom-priced through sales, adds SAML SSO, SCIM, audit logging, unlimited GPT-5.4 Thinking (now, though originally unlimited GPT-4 at launch), custom data retention, and formal SLAs. Minimum seat count typically 150+.

Business tier ($30/user/month, later adjusted) launched
OpenAI launched ChatGPT Business (later renamed from 'Team') for small professional teams. The tier provides data privacy guarantees (conversations not used for training), admin console, SSO, and shared custom GPTs. Minimum 2 users. Pricing was initially $30/user/month and adjusted to $25/user/month monthly (with annual options available).

ChatGPT Plus launched at $20/month
OpenAI launched ChatGPT Plus as the first paid tier at $20/month.
